My daughter is all packed. At least that is what her latest "status" says. Tomorrow she will take a very long flight to the other side of the world to lead a mission trip for 2 months. This is her yearly journey into the world to reach the lost. But in order for her to be packed and ready to go, much preparation has taken place.
That is true of any voyage, and it is absolutely true of our journeys of faith. When we came to know the Lord who is able to save us, we walked through the door. We entered a tabernacle, and God Himself came to us, and now tabernacles within us in our hearts. But this is merely the beginning of the journey to the Holy of Holies, a life lived in the power and presence of our Father. And this particular journey will require preparation as well.
In preparing to enter into this deeper relationship with our God, we must realize these two very important truth, and the knowledge of them must become our heart beat:
- We are incapable, even powerless, to walk in a way that is pleasing to God.
- God alone is capable, and utterly powerful, to walk in a pleasing manner THROUGH us!
